We are the home of ILCA dinghy sailing on the island of Ireland, the class association behind the most successful single-hander in Olympic history and the boat for sailors of every age.
From a teenager’s first regional in an ILCA 4 to a Masters sailor on the start line of a National Championship, ILCA Ireland is the thread that runs through an Irish sailor’s career. In 2025 we brought 130 boats to our 50th National Championships, supported a nine-event Sprint Series across Cork and Dublin, delivered coaching clinics in six smaller clubs, and fielded Ireland’s first ever team at the ILCA 4 European Team Racing Championships in Athens. We backed it with TY scholarships to Valencia, free event entry for sailors aged 18 to 30, and a Masters fleet that continues to grow.
Female participation jumped 10 points in the ILCA 4 fleet and 11 in the ILCA 6 at this year’s Nationals. The overall winner of the ILCA 6 Nationals was female, with three women in the top five.
One boat. Every age, every ability, every corner of the island. This is where Irish sailing happens.
