At the beginning of the 2018 season the Committee examined the current prizes structure at events and decided to create a “silver fleet” category in the 4.7 and radial fleets.  This was used to encourage sailors who travel and support events but may not be in the prizes currently.

At a two day event, after racing on day two the fleet was split by half the number of sailors and silver prizes were awarded.  If a sailor wins a silver prize they are moved up to gold fleet and will not be awarded another silver prize.

Now that all regional events have been held for 2018, it is hoped to breakdown the fleets using the ranking system prior to the Irish Nationals so that the fleet divisions are visible to all sailors.
