Champions’ Cup: the new name for the Irish Sailing “All Irelands”

Irish Sailing All Ireland’s or Helmsman’s Championship is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.

To mark this, Irish Sailing has done three things: change the name to the Champions’ Cup to reflect the more inclusive times in which we live, and update the nomination criteria for better female representation.

Irish Sailing has also made a short film showing a brief history of the event from its inception in 1947, interviewing some past winners and understanding its enduring legacy and importance.

The Laser / ILCA class is home to some past winners – here is a full list: https://www.sailing.ie/Racing/Champions-Cup/All-Ireland-Past-Winners)
